I made this Christmas card for my atheist mother to send out. Inside it says:
"Please accept my non-denominational holiday wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the season."
"Merry Christmas and happy New Year"
Yet another Kanien’kéha Christmas card
Another example of my Kanien’kéha greeting cards.
"Love You Forever" written by Robert Munsch, illustrated by John Thomas, layout and graphics by… MEEEE! I hate Comic Sans but I have to do what I’m told. I tried so hard to convince them not to use it. I failed.
It’s going to be translated into all 6 Hotinoshon:ni languages and distributed nationally. It will be my 4th book, although I get no writing credit on this one.
I hate it when people insist on ugly and messy.
No, I DON’T want to use Comic Sans. No, I DON’T want to put the first page of the book on the front inside cover. I’m doing this for free. You can’t tell me what to do. ARE YOU BLIND?
Okay, I’ll do it, but take my name off the credits cause I don’t want to be associated with this monstrosity.
I was so excited to work on this book. Now… I just want it to be over. I will no longer brag about this project. I will instead hang my head in shame. I made something ugly. I must be punished.
The Creator can’t draw the other eye either.
Mohawk Father’s Day card
I get such a thrill when I see my name in print. I don’t care how little the acknowledgment is. Illustration, contributing writer or researcher, editing, layout… as soon as I see my name in a book for any reason, I’m happy. Long after I’m gone, some student will write MY name in the bibliography of his research paper.
Working on another dream-catcher. This one will have double borders and a good 9” of fringe. Probably go for about $120-$150 when it’s done.
My fingers hurt. Here’s to $2.00 an hour!
